CLASSICON Bibendum

Bibendum is a modern classic and unique armchair designed by Eileen Gray in 1926 and produced by ClassiCon. Frame made of chromed steel tubing, also available with black powder coating. The armchair is upholstered in polyurethane foam and polyester fiber. Bibendum has rounded shapes with rubber bands that divide the armchair and provide padded circular tubes on top of each other. Upholstery is available in a choice of different colors in leather or fabric.

Bibendum is an elegant armchair despite its robust design. Despite being over 90 years old, Bibendum is still immensely popular and an enduring favourite. We are more than happy to decorate our exhibition with the armchair and pay tribute to the unique design language it and Eileen Gray stand for. The armchair is named after the Michelin tube by the French company Michelin, whose shape Eileen Gray used as inspiration for her armchair.
