Flos Taraxacum 2

Taraxacum 2 is a ceiling lamp designed in 1988 by Achille Castiglioni for Flos. Made with an internal structure in powder-coated steel, covered with cocoon-like resin. Taraxacum 2 is part of the Taraxacum series, which also includes Taraxacum 88 C/W, 88 and 1.

The name Taraxacum is the scientific name for dandelion, of which the shape of the bulb is an imitation. Normally the dandelion is considered a weed, but here it takes shape in a beautiful bulb and suddenly stands for something new and innovative.
