Thonet S 40 Chair

The S 40 outdoor chairs from Thonet share similarities in construction and design with the S 43, the classic design by Mart Stam. They possess the same clarity and understated form, offer optimum seating comfort, high-quality workmanship and excellent workmanship. This chair was originally listed in the Thonet catalogue in 1935 under the model number B 33 g (g = Garten, German for garden). Today, the solid wooden slats are made of Iroko, an African wood species known for its strong and durable properties. It is weatherproof and FSC-certified. Iroko resembles teak and has a smooth, uniform surface.
