The Vitra Eames Wire Chair DKR-2 chair with chrome base was designed by Charles & Ray Eames.

The Wire Chair DKR-2 chair, designed by Charles and Ray Eames, is made of bent and welded chrome-plated steel wire. The chair is 85 centimetres high, 49 centimetres wide, 51 centimetres deep and the seat height is 43 centimetres. This version of the Wire Chair has upholstery for the seat and back – also called 'the bikini' by Vitra. This bikini is available in two materials: fabric and leather.

As the average height has increased over the past 60 years, there has gradually been a need to change the dimensions of the chair. For this reason, Vitra decided in 2015 to increase the seat height by 2 centimetres. In addition, the backrest has been moved forward by 2 degrees, so that your posture once again fits perfectly at modern dining tables.
