Thonet S 661 Wooden Retro Chair

With the revival of the Thonet S 661 wooden retro chair, we are reintroducing the award-winning design by Günter Eberle from the early 1950s in different variations. Its versatility and efficient use of materials make it the perfect all-rounder for dining areas and kitchens, living rooms and home offices, as well as public spaces such as restaurants and waiting areas. The moulded plywood seat shell shows off the natural material, whether elegant walnut, warm oak or natural or stained beech. The tubular steel frame is available in chrome or powder-coated in black or white. Despite the minimalist shape and use of materials, the visible wood grain and soft curves give the chair a homely feel and a distinctive presence in the room. The S 661 combines clean lines with a precise contour. The combination of materials, in this case moulded plywood and tubular steel, is typical of Thonet.
